All this sunshine and living by the sea makes for creative table designs!! Fun and Quirky or Simple & Nautically Rustic - here a a few ideas if you need some last minute summer inspiration!!

Glorious Beach Huts

The glorious British seaside could be celebrated with a table centre arrangement of 3 colourful beach huts sat onto circular mirror bases and then surrounded by shells. Bunting could then encircle each linen table and a blue water glass at every place setting would just bring the scene together. Think about having white napkins tied with gingham ribbon and laid with a little wind blowers as a quirky gift to the guest.

Sand & Seashells

Think about having table centres with real sand, set with seashells and driftwood and even glistening seaweed. Or even instead of a mirror base source brass portholes for unique and impactful theming.

Rising out of the sand or mirror could be three tall cylinder vases with different levels of water, floating candles and perhaps coloured water floats. Perhaps follow the driftwood into the design and use in the vase - have mini storm lanterns hanging from the branches and even a little wind chime.

A shell at every place setting will bring it together beautifully and use recycled glassware for a more chic and rustic look.

Q - My fiance and I want a quirky and original theme for our spring wedding - something that people will always remember and for the right reasons! What are your top three suggestions? Pg 89

A - Springtime is inspirational and exciting and makes me think of quintessential British quirkiness. Refresher colours of pink, yellow and green against brilliant white. Imagine big headed daisy bouquets and Battenburg cake, straw boaters, white gloves and 50’s tea dresses. Tandem bike rides to garden party marquees, explosions of tulips and cucumber cocktails served in mismatched recycled glassware.
This season is all about green, new buds and freshness. For a contemporary twist consider having different sized mirror vases topped with grasses and white orchid flower trails. An impactful budget beating starting point could be a bouquet completely made from green foliage, complimented by the grooms’ tie and the bridal shoes.
Introduce spring blossom branches to the ceremony, creating billowing archways and glowing clouds of petals overhead. For the reception, walk into an enchanted scene. A mist covered mirror dance floor surrounded by tables topped with glistening pussy willow, single white amaryllis flowers entwined with crystals beads, catching the light like spring dew.

Unique and Personalised Wedding Crests!!

Creating somethings beautiful and unique for your wedding day that will be a lasting testament to your day and something that will bond your marriage and be used for years to come in all manner of ways. We set about the task of creating a crest for a lovely couple who wanted to do just that. We suggested a crest would be the perfect way to enhance the stationary they had chosen, foil embossed and very very smart!! We took into consideration all the elements that were important to them - their initials, her love of horses the fact they were from different countries and that their marriage was a momentous occasion after a 11 year engagement.
We looked at different layouts on the invitation and suggested so many other ways the crest could be used. Of course on the invitations and wedding stationary. But then the order of service and even discreetly on the table menus. A design such as this can be made into a lighting 'gobo' that can the project it onto a floor, ceiling or wall - what a stunning and unique idea for your wedding reception.
This couple went for a more traditional design but here is nothing to say you can't have something more contemporary and up to date. Fitting with your theme of your day, celebrating your individuality as a couple and being a keepsake of your unique day. These can be used in so many ways, fun and frivilous and slightly more daring perhaps.. A printed design onto a wedding cake, a vinyl for your wedding car and even made into temporary tattoos for all your guests to wear on the dance floor!!

A fantastic inspirational wedding with a vintage twist

So there we were, sitting in the winter sunshine, looking forward to some warmth on our faces and we get an enquiry through for a spring wedding. We had been chatting earlier in the week about the trends leaning towards all things vintage and what a fabuolus theme it was.. But what if you wanted the look and the essence but with a twist? So when this enquiry came through we went to town!!
To set the scene... a late summer wedding; wanting to incorporate the grooms love of the outdoors and the brides quirky nature, love of red and vintage. I set about putting together a mood board, a visual starting point that helps develop ideas and the initial starting point for all conversations.
We loved the colour and vibrance of the burnt orange lillies against the green lushness of a fresh forest fern, vintage pearls and recycled glassware against golden fish scales and sage green antique satin ribbon and lace.

I worked with my fantastic florist to develop a really unique table centre display. We choose simply twigs gathered into antique finish copper distressed pots. Around the base was an explosion of red lillies that would be accented throughout the design and indeed the rest of the day.

We wanted to use something delicate but with the same outstanding colour to weave into the twigs and set at every place setting next to the name card. Beautiful gloriosa was the only shock of colour on the table. It perfectly balance the subtlety of the vintage blown glassware and the inspired invitation design.

We set up a guest book table; the was design was set to incorporate the couples love of writing letters to each other. There was a beautiful wooden casket cascading with pearls; wooden fans scented with Sandelwood were gifts for every lady and twig pencils were left for guests to write their wishes for the future on vintage notelets.

We set the room with greenery and ferns, the smell was absolutely beautiful. A harpist was set to the side against this and back lit and entwined with fairy lights so as dusk fell and the candles were lit it magically twinkled like fireflies.

We introduced a twist on the wedding cake because the groom did not like wedding cakes. As a compromise we had a vintage lace inspired traditional cake made for the bride and the photos and a funky alternative made of green apples. A fantastic looking food sculpture - this was later the centre piece to the cheese table for the evening quests.
What a great alternative to flowers!!

As some extras touches to the day our beautiful bride matched the signiture red with her shoes and her bouquet like the ones posted below.

I had a lot of fun coming up with the ideas and concepts for this wedding celebration and will look forward to discussing more fabulous plans with you very soon..
